"Rohingya RISE: A Lifeline for Cox's Bazar Rohingya Children"
Rohingya RISE was born out of a deep commitment to address the pressing challenges faced by Rohingya refugee children in Cox’s Bazar. Rohingya RISE was founded by a group of young volunteers who worked in the Rohingya camps when the largest group of refugees came from Myanmar to Bangladesh in 2017. Over a million Rohingyas are living a life as refugees in Bangladesh, and half of them are children. Without education and a life full of sorrow, they are in danger now. The United Nations declared the refugees as a lost generation without education and other fundamental human rights.
Rohingya RISE is dedicated to empowering Rohingya refugee children through the cultivation of their emotional well-being and education. Our approach is closely connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially focusing on 5 SDGs:
Our educational institutions offer high-quality instruction, cultivating a passion for knowledge and equipping pupils to achieve their maximum capabilities. We teach English, mathematics, and science.
Our primary focus is on children’s emotional and mental well-being. We provide counseling and support services to assist them in recovering from the distress caused by displacement.
Our goal is to eliminate childhood hunger by offering nourishing meals and encouraging wholesome eating habits. We take donations and use them for children’s education and food.
Our mission is to empower both girls and boys in the Rohingya community, promoting gender equality through education and collaborative efforts to eliminate all gender disparities.
